La CFDT Cheminots se dit en accord avec le rapport récent de la Cour des comptes sur les autoroutes ferroviaires. Elle considère que ses conclusions révèlent « l’absence d’une réelle volonté politique de développer le fret ferroviaire au sein de l’Hexagone ». Dans un communiqué du 13 février, l’organisation syndicale demande que l’Etat prenne « ses responsabilités pour mettre réellement en œuvre le Grenelle de l’environnement et l’engagement national pour le fret ferroviaire ». Elle se dit aussi inquiète pour l’avenir de Fret SNCF, car les réorganisations successives « n’ont eu comme résultats qu’une chute des tonnes-km transportées ». Si rien n’est fait rapidement, s’alarme la CFDT Cheminots, « le fret ferroviaire a une espérance de vie plus que limitée ».
